Geoff Lorentz was born and raised in Kitchener and
is a life long resident. He attended St. Paulís School as well as
Forest Heights Collegiate Institute. He is husband to Debbie, and
the father of three young adults, Angela, Jennifer, and Justin.
Geoff was first elected to Kitchener City Council
in 1988. He served on Waterloo Regional Council from 1991 to 2000.
He is the current chair of the Community Services Committee and
has been for the last 15 years. Geoff has also served on many
other committees at both the City and Regional level.
Geoff was the driving force in seeing that the
Forest Heights Community Centre built was along with the expansion
of both the Forest Heights Swimming Pool and the Forest Heights
branch of the Kitchener Public Library.
Geoff was a member of the St. Maryís Hospital
Heritage Conservation District Working group. He is a member of
Neighbourhood Watch, a Life Director for K-W and Area United Way
as well as a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
He is currently employed as a Letter Carrier for
Canada Post and has been for 35 years. Geoff and his wife Debbie
have owned and operated the Winexpert Kitchener store, located at
645 Westmount Rd. for the last 4 years. The business employees 1
full time employee and 4 part-time, which Angela manages for the
